| Fundraising and Sponsors Playing wheelchair basketball is expensive. Our team is constantly seeking fundraising opportunities. To play competitively we have to travel. There are only three junior wheelchair basketball teams in Michigan. Most tournaments we play at are out of state. Travel is expensive. Basketball wheelchairs start at $1500 and go up from there. But it is a sport our kids love. It gives them a chance to be a team and achieve greatness! The games are as exciting as any other sport, for parents and kids alike. The Sterling Heights Challengers is a non-profit organization. Donations and sponsorships are tax deductible. If you, your company, your friends, or any other group would like to help us please call or email coach Diane Winterstein. We play fundraising games against schools and other organizations whenever we have the chance. Every game helps us. In the past we have played against the Macomb Optimist's Club, Romeo High School, Michigan Gold Wing Road Riders Association, Churchill High School, and more. If you and your group, school, company, or other organization would like to play our team let us know. We will provide the basketball wheelchairs, and even spot you at least 40 points! It is always a lot of fun and for a good cause. The public is welcome at all our games. We would love to see you there. Bring your friends and family. Check the calendar for upcoming games. Each year we also try to have a bowling fundraiser and golf fundraiser. Watch the calendar page for information as it becomes available. |

Golf Fundraiser was a sellout!
Held
at Cracklewood Golf Club in Macomb Towhship, our 2006 fundraiser sold
out. We had to turn people away at the door. The 2007 Challengers Golf
Fundraiser is being planned. It will be larger and better than ever!

| Thank
you to our sponsors for the 2006/07 season. Your support made it
possible for the Challengers to go to the NWBA Prep National
Championship Tournament and take SECOND
PLACE! And also made it possible for the Challengers to go
to the NWBA Junior Varsity National Championship Tournament
and take FIRST PLACE! Note that this list is incomplete. I will add sponsors as I find out who they are. |
